"Since 1996 all members have been referred to as Guides. The younger girls (formerly Gumnut Guides aged 5-6 years and Brownie Guides aged 7- 11 years) love being known as Guides and having the opportunities to choose the name of their Unit. In some areas girls have decided to keep the name Brownie or Gumnut or Ranger as a tradition in their Unit name while others have chosen names such as the Dolphin Guides, Bilby Guides, Junior or Senior Guides. Unit names will usually contain the name of the area as well" source

Guider Shelly from Australia liked my Guide Promise Minibook so I made one for her using the Australian Guides new Promise! Enjoy this activity Shelly!  Hopefully other Australian Guiders will use this activity too!

Four World Centres Mini Book

Hello friends! It's getting close to that time of year when Guiders are frantically searching for activities to use for a Thinking Day themed meeting. One idea that I like to do with my Girl Guide unit each year is to teach them about world guiding and the Four World Centres.  I made this Four World Centres mini book along with posters of the Four World Centres ,and other info, to be used in a round-robin style meeting. I originally made it about 6 or 7 years ago and have made minor changes to the photos and content over the years.

*Update* I have an updated edition of the World Centres mini book here which includes the fifth World Centre.
If you would like to request this file please email

The Girl Guides look at the posters
and fill in the info in the mini book

Have the girls print their name on the back.

This book can be used in the World Guiding Lapbook or on it's own.  It may be a little tricky to explain the folding directions but it really is quite simple once you make one. See the folding directions at the end of this post.

This is what the mini book looks like before folding and cutting
The coordinating posters pdf is also available upon request.

I am happy to share Guiding
activities with Sisters in Guiding!

Lord Baden-Powell Facts Robin Activity

Hello Blogland!  Here is another activity to use with my Girl Guide Lapbook.  It is a Lord Baden-Powell facts activity.  The reason why I made it to look like a Robin is because LBP gave BP the nickname ROBIN.  He would even sometimes draw a robin  and use that as his signature.  He was quite an accomplished artist.  Did you know that he did the illustrations for his book Scouting For Boys?  I have a pdf version of the "Facts About Lord Baden-Powell"  activity for anyone who would like to use it. {I have two pdf versions...one is three pages...and a larger one for demonstration is 9 pages}

The Facts are typed on eggs..then attached with a paper fastener {brad} to the Robin to resemble the bird's body.  Pre punch the hole to prevent tearing.

I chose 15 facts for this activity.
You could choose less if you like or add more.

Yes! I have way too much fun
making these activities!

Lady Baden-Powell Facts Wheel

Hello Readers!  Here is an activity to use with my Girl Guide Lapbook.  You will need a paper fastener and scissors for this one.  Cut out both circles...cut out the notch in the top circle...this is the view window which will allow you to see the facts as you turn to wheel...poke a hole in the center of each circle...attach a paper fastener {paper brad} to the center hole...attach to your Lapbook using the paper fastener.  Do not glue this one to the lapbook since it is meant to turn freely.  Send an email if you would like to use this LBP Facts Wheel in a Lapbook.
