  1. Hi Lee Ann. I'm trying to track down a listing / explanation of girl guide badges that I earned in the 1980s (in Canada). I recognize a few from the pictures above... I guess some haven't changed. Do you know where I might find this info? Thanks!

  2. Hi Shawna, Your best bet would be to find an old program book. What year {s} where you looking for? and just for Guides or Brownies too? You can email me {my email is in my profile}. I have a Guide program book from 1985 and one from 1977.

  3. Hi Lee Ann. Our group used to use your old website all the time as a reference for our badges and activities. Do you know of a place where we could find similar information?

    1. Hi there...Unfortunately the server for my old website has been doing some repairs and as a result my site is down. I hope to combine the old website with this blog some time in the near future. I've heard from a few Guiders that they used that site as a resource for teaching the Guiding programs so I hope to get the time to do it soon.

    1. Hi Digi Mom...I know that the old Guide and Brownie Program books had it set up like a checklist, where each part of the badge had a box that you could check when completed. Unfortunately, the new Program books are not set up as such. I do not have a checklist for the badges but some people use my badge chart as a type of check list. Hope this answers your question. Thanks for visiting Owl & Toadstool !

  6. Hello. I'm trying to get my daughters badges onto her sash today. I think I got everything where it needs to go but I have a Remembrance Day badge that I can not find placement info. Could you describe to me where to put it?

  7. HI there... usually only earned interest badges , program badges, Provincial/National Challenge badges, and patrol group/circle emblems go on the badge sash. Other crests go on a camp hat or blanket...these are known as "fun crests". Hope this helps. Thanks for visiting Owl & Toadstool !

  8. Hello and thank you for posting these photos! We often use the resource on the GGC website to ID badges (http://www.girlguides.ca/web/ON/Girl_Program/Canadian_Guiding_Badges_and_Insignia_Resource.aspx) but we needed one in this format and you have it!! Thank you so much!! 64th London Guides.
